She was just a neighbor near home,
Older than he on her own…
He was of her fond
And doted upon
This friend that lived near home.
Then a man moved next door to her,
Across the hallway, as it were…
Seeing them there
Each in a chair
In bathrobes caused emotion stir.
Neither one misbehaved in the dark,
Sitting inside talking was a lark…
But thinking went gory,
She was HIS territory–
This man had no right for a spark.
It didn’t lead to anything,
No outburst or mutter or swing…
Of this be wary
‘Cause he’d be the most foolish thing!
