Envisioned his own last stand,

Fighting to be a man…

Diabetes and age

Made fleeting the stage,

The chance for an upper hand.

Found a blog appealing

Close to his inner feeling…

Angled for him,

Envy snuck in

Not having had that sort of dealing.

The problem was–where to play—

It wasn’t a normal display…

People would ask

And take him to task

For that sort of blog, okay?

He stored it and deleted,

Numerous times completed…

Managed to see

Portions then flee,

And wished it was HIM so treated!

He came to understand, be wary,

The whole thing was imaginary…

He couldn’t follow through

As those characters “do.”

The lack of response—-scary.

Later he recognized

On another blog–big surprise–

That girl in “his” scene

Was that medium’s queen,

The honeypot for many guys.

He kept his continuing “research’

Away from friends and the church…

Got deep enough

To find it tough

To leave when walls closed in..with a sudden lurch!

He knows he can never go back

To that media or a younger track…

Love that’s around

Isn’t as error-bound,

And won’t put his soul on the rack!

The upshot of his excursion-?-

To find more healthy immersion…

There’s hope in the Lord

He and wife restored,

Might have need to close every curtain!

About Jonathan Caswell

Poet, author, servant of God the Heavenly father and the Lord Jesus Christ...working out his salvation with fear and trembling. - Not trusting in his own deeds, but depending totally upon the finished sacrificial work of Jesus Christ to be, by God's reckoning, a new creature, clothed in Christ's righteousness...which mortal humankind can never attain by their own weak efforts, apart from faith in Christ's work on our behalf. - College-educated, yet wise enough to see that what a man does will not be his ultimate identity nor affect how God sees him or her. - Called by God to do a very difficult thing...apart from God's grace, mercy and love the sinner (which we all--by nature--are) but hate the sin, which is only paid through Christ, God's Son, - My own God-given gift is that of being a Poet..showing that in all parts of life...God has a loving part in hard as that is to always understand or perceive...given life's realities! Come join me on my journey of discovery?.
